Lublin, Meir ben Gedaliah of (Maharam Lublin)
(1558-1616)
   Polish talmudist. He was born in Lublin, and became head of the yeshivah there (1582-7). He later served as dayyan and head of the yeshivah at Krakow. From 1595 to 1613 he was a rabbi in Lemberg, and he was then appointed rabbi and head of the yeshivah in Lublin. His Meir Ene Hakhamim contains novellae on the entire Talmud. His responsa were published in Manhir Ene Hakhamim.
